Message from the Chairman
As we begin 2013, businesses still face considerable economic headwinds. The effects of the 2009 recession remain with many of us. However, if you are part of the Carmel business community, there is a lot to be optimistic about.
During 2012, our city was named by Money Magazine the number one small city in the USA to live in. And following that recognition, Carmel was the featured city on the front page of USA Today. That type of recognition will serve to create local business opportunity despite the trends of the national economy.
You can be sure that your Chamber of Commerce is here to continue to build on these successes through bold leadership. Our goals in the coming year are:
- To be your Advocate in business matters within the community.
- To Grow our membership to be a true representative of all businesses.
- To Communicate issues and positions with members in an effective, timely and meaningful way.
- To Collaborate with other organizations on business issues that affect not just Carmel, but the entire regional and state economy.
We are here to serve your interests. I encourage you to communicate with us on any subject you feel needs to be addressed in our community. And if you’re reading this message and are not a Chamber member yet, I encourage you to consider joining. The commitment is small and the benefits can make a real difference in your business’ success.
